Lambayeque is a region located on the North coast of Peru and was the birthplace of one the most important pre-Columbian cultures, the Sican. This culture of sailors and travelling salesmen developed around the area of Lambayeque's dry forest from AD 700 to 1300. They are known for handcrafting the best goldsmithery pieces of northern Peru. Discover during your Peru tour in Pomac the excellent fruits the forest produces for the gastronomy and for the textiles. Moreover, the successive generations have cultivated native cotton. For about 5,000 years, they have used this natural color fiber in a very sophisticated way you will be able to observe. During this ethnotourism Peru travel experience, we will also visit the archeological complex of Tucume, that local people also name the Purgatory. This is one of the most important pre-Columbian sites of the Northern coast of Peru.  The complex of Tucume is made of 26 imposing pyramidal monuments associated with lower size structures which reflect an organized growth system and a complex social structure. The site was occupied until the Inca civilization. With the arrival of the Spaniards, and after vain human sacrifices, the site was purified and abandoned.
